Romance vs Romance

This week , after the Murphy’s Law of Love, I finished another 2 of taiwan drama, Love Cuisine (Lego Lee and Allison Lin) and Refresh Man (Aaron Yan and Joanne Tseng).
All third is a romance genre drama. I find it those 3 drama is very very bothering.

The problem with Taiwan romance-genre drama is that I get bored so easily after 10 eps, when the male lead ask the female lead to be his gf, after that the ‘spark’ just completely gone even-though they have a killing chemistry. Although TW drama is more generous with skin-ships than others Asian drama, also, they had a funny comical dialog, but their romance suddenly bored me after the couple is made, enough to make me just jump and watch the ending only. It’s a shame, how they were so good executed but end up with a boring romance.
Then, I cannot help it to compare with Korean drama, the same romance-genre actually could get me going from one to sixteen or to twenty four even fifty episode without failed.

Back to Love Cuisine and Refresh Man:
– I do enjoy Lego Lee and Aaron Yan acting very much.
– I wish the female lead is not Allison Lin, she looks much older than Lego Lee.
– I love the story of Refresh Man, the male and female lead has known each other back in high school, so they’re really in tunes one to another.
– Again, Lego Lee is a great actor, just wish he can choose a better script, as an example: in a good way was really a great script.
– As for Aaron Yan, I didn’t notice before, but since when he got that six pack body?? lol

Romance Overloaded!

The problem if I don’t write often are: my fingers got stiff and my brain got stuck over an idea.

After the unpredictable Mr. Black, I decided to watch some easy romance. From Madam Antoine, funny, light, my kind of drama to One More Happy Ending, when I was expecting nothing but the drama hooked me right to the hilarious ending! Then after neglecting for almost a year: She Was Pretty, when she’s not pretty anymore she decided to hide from her adult clumsy best-friend.

To the magnificent seven personalities of Cha Dong Hyun in Kill Me Heal Me, then jump to My best ex-boyfriend that made me see the very funny childish Jerry Yan.
Continue to horse ridding in Longing For Spring, a short web drama.

And lastly I just finished with Murphy’s Law of Love.

So, If you need some doses of romance, you might wanna check those titles I mention above.

Kdrama Review: Goodbye, Mr. Black

gmb1The root of all evil: money

Goodbye, Mr. Black 20 eps with: Lee Jin Wook,  Moon Chae Young, Kim Kang Woo,  Yoo In Young, Song Jae Rim, Kim Tae Woo,  Im Se Mi

Quite a cast, right?
Mr. Happy energetic Captain Cha Ji Won is an elite soldier.  He is fast, clever, winner, has a beautiful fiancee, lovely sister, great best friend, and a rich loving father. In one single day, all those too good to be true dissappear like a quick sand. In one single betrayal Cha Ji Won lose his fiancee, his family, his best friend and even lose himself.

I think that synopsis is enough to explain what is gonna happen next. Right, a miserable life of Cha Ji Won. This is the second drama lead by Lee Jin Wook and 3rd drama by Moon Chae Won that I watched. Although both is quite a great actor, but I’m not really into both.
I usually underestimate thrilled/action genre of Korean drama. They often missing something to the thrill, they often blow the flame on so not the right moment, they even often just sadistic killed the climax and screw up the ending. But Goodbye, Mr. Black has managed to delete all those dull/off scenes.

I won’t spoiler it. That thrilled you gotta watch yourself, but you can noted that GMB will surely to continue surprised you from eps 1 to 20, just when you thought is all over for Cha Ji Won, just when you thought it will be a forever downfall for the bad guy, just when you thought it’s gonna be a sad ending, all the twist, the sweet broken romance, the whole story will make you continuously changing your emotion.

gmbfriendsI really enjoy watching Goodbye, Mr. Black. Min Sun Jae, I hate him for what he’s done, but I can’t hate him for knowing the reason.
Baek Eun Do, a total pure evil that loves only money.
Yoon Ma Ri, at some point I became disgusting of her.
Funny and cute Ko Sung Min as Cha Ji Won lifesafer.
Kim Ji Ryoon, one and only Cha Ji Won loyal friend and lawyer.
Kim Swan that supports CJW all the way with. Finally, Cha Ji Won himself that will fill you with the thrill of the whole drama.
Great casts, great acts!

The Time We’re not in Love

After watching one eps of CSI Miami, I decided that even if I want to I can not be a sniper. A Sniper apparently has to measure not just the wind speed, but also, how far the target is, what riffle and what kind of bullet I’ll be using, yang mana.. semua angka2 itu bakal sukses bikin my head ‘stuck’ lol.

Back to drama, The Time We’re not in Love is a Korean remake from Taiwanese drama, In Time With You, which both I really enjoyed.
Though at first I don’t think Ha Ji Won suits such a romance genre, but her act prove me wrong. As Oh Ha Na, she’s pretty good actually. She’s even cute sometimes (but I don’t think that school uniform and glasses suit her).

At age 34, Oh Ha Na is again, dumped by her boyfriend. She runs to Choi Won, her best friend for a consolation. But soon, Ha Na’s heart begins to flutter again, but again she’s once again hurt and again she seeks for Choi Won consolation.
This time Ha Na ex fiancee come back, ask for her forgiveness and let him marry her for real. But Seo Hoo ini yah.. ceritanya pianis terkenal, biarpun dia cinta banget sama Ha Na, cuma egois banget.
Seo Ho minta supaya Ha Na ga berhubungan lagi dengan Choi Won, which Ha Na said itu gak mungkin since Choi Won is her best friend.
But here comes what I think, how could any guy beat Choi Won? They just can’t! Oh Ha Na is attached to Choi Won vice versa.
Oh Ha Na just didn’t realize yet, that the love she always wanted is right there, in front of her eyes.

Even Ha Na’s cool parents already think Choi Won as their son, lol.

A neighbor, a friend, a best friend finally a lover, I find Choi Won is really loyal to Oh Ha Na, he’s always there, gave his best to the girl he’s been waiting for the past 17 years! (yes! 17 years! It’s a long devotion without avail).

Both as friends and lovers, Oh Ha Na and Choi Won, I think really perfect for each other.

memories of 2003

Year 2003, I think. I was walking in the boarding alley, when one friend of mine sang this song, out loud.

“Leaving On A Jet Plane”
by Chantal Kreviazuk

I’m … I’m …

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

But the dawn is breakin’, it’s early morn
The taxi’s waitin’, he’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go

‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

I’m …

There’s so many times I’ve let you down
So many times I’ve played around
I’ll tell you now, they don’t mean a thing

Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back I’ll wear your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go

‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, oh, let me kiss you
And close your eyes and I’ll be on my way

Dream about the days to come
When I won’t have to leave alone
About the times that I won’t have to say …

Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go

‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

And I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

But I’m leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane
(Ah ah ah ah)
(Leaving) On a jet plane

sleepy eyes

I have plenty of paper works, I should do something about it, work on it, get it done, but instead I browse around here and there with sleepy eyes, playing some quizes online like this one on playbuzz Which Kind of Tea Should You Love To Drink?
and I’ve got this result: No Tea… You should stick to coffee or gatorade! (but I really love to drink tea!)

then this one: What Role Would You Play in a K-Pop Group?
I got ‘The Dork’ as result: They can call you 4D, the choding, the fake maknae, but basically you are weird. You can’t help it but at least that means people find you amusing. Whether it is because of the unintentional body gags or some really random comments, people love you on variety shows.

~better get back to work

^ Friends ^

Every time I had a chance, I often found myself starring at strangers around me. It’s kinda fascinating looking on what they do, their gesture, their reaction to a certain circumstances and their interaction one to another. I, sometimes could read their character like an open book. You know that your most dominant character would shown on your face, as easy as that.

Lee Eun Bi suffered from bullying. The bullying was so cruel that Lee Eun Bi killed herself after withdraw from school. Luckily she was saved. She woke up in a hospital bed and be called Go Eun Byul.

The new Go Eun Byul learns that she had a twin sister that was missing at the same day she went for suicide. Go Eun Byul surprised her friends with a change of attitude, like a completely different person. The secrets finally leaks out when the bullier of her suddenly transferred to the school. But luckily Gong Tae Gwang and Han Yi An, Eun Byul childhood friends always protect her and both admit to like this new Go Eun Byul.

Using her twin identity, Lee Eun found a new life, a new family, a new friends and also love.

The plot itself it’s enough to make me watch from episode to episode. Though the cast are many young people, but they sure did a great act, two thumbs up for BtoB Yook Sung Jae (love his character!).

Watching such a school genre made me think to myself if I ever that young, do I ever that naif, maybe I had, but why don’t I recall any of those? Where did they go?

For the teenager Lee Eun Bi, life must be hard. But for the older me, I say just smack them all the bullier, in the end Lee Eun Bi is forced to withdraw from school, so what she got to lose?
But I do understand why Lee Eun Bi didn’t do like I wished. She grew up in the orphan, for as long as she lives, she desperately longing for warmness, friends, family, she dreams about love. She loves school, she wants to be a teacher someday, so that’s why she chose to endure it until she just can’t anymore.

I remember going to school alone, playing alone, eating alone, I come to the point that I don’t care if I have friends or not. I was a big kid for my age, I’m bigger that most of kids at my class so, I’m pretty safe. I learns in a very young age that you can’t count on friends. Friends are come and go, because in the end people always think about itself first.

Lee Eun Bi got the courage to face all her friends, to come forward and said the truth. She’s now has everything she dreams about, friends, family, love.

Life is short, so live it, live it the best while we’re young.

the psycho murderer, the creepy lawyer, the genius, the stalker and the clueless

I always have this kinda ‘big interest’ on psychology drama. How a certain circumstances, a certain trauma actually can make someone mental suffer to the point of madness. And that’s why I found the drama “I Remember You” is very very fascinating to watch. Not just the psychological parts of each main characters, but the acting, the story itself, the overall of this drama is really just.. beautiful.

This scene is very entertaining for me, it’s kinda funny but creepy at the same time ~the dinner~

On the left side are (the characters name): Lee Joon Young/Lee Joon Ho the psychopath killer, an unwanted child that had been locked up during his childhood by his own mother.
Min, the younger brother that ran away during his father murdered and accidentally got into the murderer vehicle, end up being a psycho lawyer.
In the middle: Lee Hyun, the genius older brother who got a childhood amnesia. His father once thought of him as a monster, but he was just covering for his younger brother.
On the right side: Cha Ji An, a stalker, a daughter of criminal, a police officer, she wants to believe that her father instead of missing for 20 years is still alive.
Kang Eun Hyeok, the police team leader, he is new, his father is a chief police that he suspicious had something issue with the dispensary of the psychopath murdered.

All five of them had an interesting dinner on ep14, knowing each other identity but doesn’t have the evidence to just spell the truth. Funny thing that they are actually sit down together and talking like a bunch of old friends.
And I just can’t wait to watch what will happen at the last 2 eps left!

“If you wear a mask, you’ll never be happy”

20’s full of idealism..
30’s many new found understanding about life..
40’s is there anything else new?

I just finished with ‘MASK’ (Soo Ae, Joo Ji Hoon) great story, great chemistry, great acting! i have no complains, just can’t get enough of their skin-ship!!

And i love the ost so much, Only One Day by Lyn

about friends & lover

J: I just spend 100 SGD last weekend
Me: really? that’s plenty. for what?
J: dating! yakitori and beer
Me: that’s expensive, you can get more than just yakitori here, so.. any great result from that expensive date?
J: Nope! I called her the next day and she completely ignore me. there it goes my whole month lunch money. why girls do that?
They show up on blind date, seems like we had something but the next day she just.. puff..
Me: maybe you push her too much? hoping too much?
J: Na.. we talk casually relax, just common things
Me: then, maybe she doesn’t want a serious relation ship, or she’s just taking advantage of you paid her lunch
J: I guess so, sigh.. these girl, you know.. almost 90% of them is money oriented, they ask where I work, how much do I get paid, haissh
and they got this ‘princess complex’ disease. My last gf even went MIA when I told her we will have long distance relationship
Me: that means she’s not serious.
J: yeah, my friend said so too.
Me: too bad for her, most girl just doesn’t think that way, you know. which is better the guy who care for her first or the other way? for me is a A choice. Love surely can grow later if you’re willing to, trying hard enough.
J: Agree to that.
Me: so, the conclusion of our conversation today is.. find your friends and lover around high school and college and at the beginning of your career, after that, all those things is just getting harder and harder..
J: Right, that time, we don’t think too much, life is simpler..

and as I remember, we’ve known each other since 1998, and it’s been 17 years already.
